Brass 10 Headed Ravana & Mandodri

This intricately crafted brass idol of Ravana, also known as “Dashagriva” or “Dashanan,” portrays the legendary figure with his iconic ten heads. Each head is said to represent vices such as anger, greed, pride, delusion, envy, lust, lethargy, arrogance, impulsiveness, and despair. In another interpretation, the ten heads signify Ravana’s mastery over the six shastras and four Vedas, underscoring his vast wisdom and knowledge.

On the reverse side stands Mandodari, his noble and virtuous queen, revered for her wisdom and moral strength. Though her role in the Ramayana is relatively limited, she is pivotal in repeatedly advising Ravana to return Sita and abandon the path of adharma.
